  • ART+COM is a German company that creates applications, websites, terminals and installations, multimedia facades, functional spaces and sensory experiences for industry, culture and the research sector. Their projects can be found on the internet, in museums, showrooms and visitor and science centres as well as at trade fairs and events all over the world. Digital Experience has previously mentioned the installation documenta mobil, and in the following posts we will once again present some of ART+COMs fascinating projects.

The first one being the Home and Exile multimedia installation. The installtion is part of a currently running exhibition at the Jewish Museum in Berlin. The installation’s interface is a world map from 1939. By turning a rotary knob, the user can choose among more than 80 countries and retrieve information about the selected place presented in the form of texts and images. Up to three users can interact and experience history independently in either German or in English.

The exhibition can be experienced at the Jewish Museum in Berlin until 9. April 2007. The exhibition will then move on to the Haus der Geschichte in Bonn on 17. May 2007, and afterwards, it can be seen in the Forum of Contemporary History in Leipzig.

Digital experience inspires a lot of people, showing exiting, interessting, innovative or even odd uses of new technology in an experience-oriented context. If you have a good example that we haven't already covered, we would appreciate your suggestion.
