  • Situated at BMW’s recently opened museum in Munich, this kinetic sculpture changes its shape to resemble historic BMW designs, using 714 metal balls that appear to be floating in space.

The metal balls are suspended on barely visible strings that can change the position of the ‘pixels’ individually. The installation displays a cycle of classic BMW car shapes from the company’s history, but can also create complex abstract patterns.

The installation was created by ART+COM. Check out a video of the kinetic sculpture in action.

More information can be found on the official website.
