Subversive Sightseeing is a project by Timothy Simpson, MA student at the Design Products Department at the Royal College of Art in London.
Subversive Sightseeing consists of a coin operated sightseeing telescope which is manipulated to digitally superimpose fictions onto the London landscape. The device unsettles our perception of place with unexpected events that visually reference our imaginations. In the distance a crane collapses, a mushroom cloud appears on the horizon, and a pod on the London Eye dangles precariously over the Thames.
